- Yo: Hey, what do you do if you're handing out candy and a clown comes to your door?
- Yo: You're a cop. You have a gun. You do the math.

Day 5 of Thanks - Music
This one may seem silly to some people but for others, they get exactly why I am thankful for music. I have to start out by going back to day 1 where I was thankful for my parents. I was fortunate to grow up in a home where music was always playing..and it was good music too. I love getting to tell people I grew up listening to Queen, Journey, Toto, Foreigner, Three Dog Night, etc. plus all the good bands from the 60’s to the 90’s. My parents had great taste in music and I don’t know what would have happened if I didn’t grow up in a home like that. I think my brother can agree with that one (http://www.facebook.com/hurricanerosesband)
For me, music has become such a huge thing in my life.
- Worship music is usually where I feel closest to God. Thinking about praising Him with all the angels for all of eternity is just breathtaking.
- When I am sad, I know exactly what to listen to to make me feel better. Or to make me cry. Or just to make me feel.
- I love to sing and I know God has blessed me with a good(ish) voice that I get to use to it to praise Him. I am so thankful for getting the opportunity to help lead others in worship through music.
- I am constantly listening to music whether in the car, at work, at home and I just don’t like silence partly because I know there is some amazing music out there that I just haven’t found yet and why waste my time in silence??
I’m not sure how I feel about this being the longest post so far…

I’ve decided to copy a wonderful lady (http://sarahg-blog.tumblr.com) and do this challenge. So every day I will chronicle something (anything) that I’m thankful for each day for the month leading up to Thanksgiving.
Day 1 - October 24 {1 month until Thanksgiving}
I’ll start with the obvious~my family. I can’t even think of anything to write about this because once I start, it will take me hours to write about how much they mean to me. Just know that they are phenomenal people and I am so blessed to be a part of this family.
ps - ignore my dads crazy eyes.

today is my parent’s 30th wedding anniversary! i can only pray to be as happy and amazing as they are when I am that age. They are the best parents in the whole world and have given me the most amazing examples of what a husband, wife and parents are supposed to be. I can’t wait to get married, have my own kids and try to be as great as they are. I am truly blessed and thank God often for choosing me to be their daughter!

Please pray for my cousin India’s 2 month old baby girl Hallie. She was diagnosed with polycystic kidney disease. They transferred her to Oakland (they live in Dixon) for surgery on her stomach so she can properly digest food….she is currently in the NICU. They spoke with her surgery team this morning about her procedure . The muscle at the bottom of her stomach has grown so strong that its not letting any food pass through. The surgery will be to go in and cut a small slit in the muscle and stretch it to allow her food to pass through. Says its about a 15-20 min surgery and quite common in little ones. They’re just waiting for her labs to become a little more balanced as she isn’t stable enough yet to handle surgery. Said surgery possibly tomorrow or thursday.
